Hi Friend,

The foundation videos in the Robot Assistant Field Guide teach you the method. Ten videos, about three hours total. By the end, you have a working AI assistant built on Claude Cowork and Obsidian.

But the workshops are where the real building happens.

Starting April 2, I'm running a 10-week live workshop series. Every Thursday at noon. These aren't webinars where you sit and watch a presentation. They're working sessions. You show up, we build something together, you leave with a working workflow. If you miss a webinar, no problem. They're all recorded and uploaded.

Here's the lineup:

Workshop 1: Getting Real (Apr 2). System health check. We'll build a live morning briefing from scratch and troubleshoot whatever's not working.

Workshop 2: Email Processing (Apr 9). The robot folder workflow. Batch processing. Draft-then-send. This is the one that saves the most daily time for most people.

Workshop 3: Calendar and Daily Planning (Apr 16). Connecting your calendar, building a daily briefing, and running a shutdown routine.

Workshop 4: Task Management (Apr 23). How the endeavor system works. Triage. Views. Getting out of the "reorganizing my task list" trap.

Workshop 5: The Personal CRM (Apr 30). People, places, things. Tracking relationships and resources without a separate app.

Workshops 6-10 cover review cadences, content workflows, integrations, building your own skills, and a final spotlight session with Q&A.

Every session is recorded. If you can't attend live, catch the replay and work through it at your own pace.

I've taught a lot of courses. This one is the most hands-on I've ever done. The material demands it. You can't learn to build an AI assistant by watching someone else do it. You learn by building your own, with someone there to help when you get stuck.

The goal is a system that handles the donkey work without you ever leaving the zone. The workshops are where you build that system, one workflow at a time.

The Foundation Videos Teach You How To Think

The ten foundation videos are the key. David doesn't just show you what buttons to click. He teaches you how to think about building skills so you can create your own workflows after the course is done.

What I've Been Waiting for To Use AI Productively

The Robot Field Guide is what I've been waiting for to get started with using AI on my Mac productively. No more dithering about which model to use and how to get started - the RFG has it all, step by step Like every other Field Guide (and I've used almost all of th ... – Rob O

I Built My Own Personal Assistant That Works for Me

I’ve been using artificial intelligence for about three years now, and I thought I already had a solid understanding of it. However, the ideas David presents truly take things to another level.I was especially drawn to the concept of building my own personal assistant. In just a few days, I was able not only to create that assistant but also to assemble a small library of skills that I can activate whenever I need them. What I particularly appreciated is how clearly the underlying principles are explained. At first, I was hesitant about the use of Obsidian, since I already rely on Craft for my note-taking. But I quickly realized that Obsidian is not the cornerstone of the system—it simply serves as a convenient Markdown editor. Thank you, David. Thank you for taking the time to explain these ideas in a clear and thoughtful way, without the usual hype and noise that so often surrounds AI “gurus.”

David Sparks (MacSparky)

In a world where technology is increasingly conspiring to steal our focus and attention, my goal is to teach you how to be more productive with Apple technology. I want to help you achieve what is most important to you and enjoy your life at the same time using technology instead of becoming another one of its victims. Pretty much everything I make points at that North Star. I believe in this message so much that I’ve staked my livelihood on it.

THE MACSPARKY DISPATCH Hi Friend, The MacBook Neo is here, and it's already obvious it will be a massive hit for Apple. I've heard from three Apple-adjacent friends in the last week that intend to buy them. Apple is going to sell so many of these. But I want to talk about what the Neo isn't. If you've been waiting for Apple to make a truly ultralight Mac, something more premium, smaller, and yes, more expensive, the Neo isn't that machine. The Neo is about accessibility and volume. It's the...
